
MCA provides its members with a mix of services that support their organizations, their staff and their advocacy goals. MCA secures funding for Efficiency United, and other projects to improve communities and bring resources to members and their clients.
MCA also pools our members’ resources to get group discounts on important products like memberships in CAPLAW, Virtual CAP, and the National Community Action Foundation.
MCA organizes training for individual CAAs and group training events. Our staff provides technical assistance or arranges peer to peer support as requested by our members. MCA coordinates an annual conference, the annual Community Action Awards for volunteers and low income families, an advocacy day at the State Capitol, and media events to celebrate Weatherization Month, Community Action Month and more.
MCA staff provides training and support on FACSPro™ to help our members track, analyze and plan their work. We assist with training and questions on ROMA, Organizational Standards and other aspects of the work of Community Action like community needs assessments, using Community Commons for data, strategic planning and transition planning.

Every CAA has a seat at the table! Six times a year, MCA’s Directors Council meets to decide important issues for the network, get up to date information on state monitoring issues, advocacy updates from Capitol Affairs, and the chance to network with colleagues and MCA staff. MCA member agencies receive Gongwer news as part of their membership. This helps members stay on top of important policy developments in our state. Due to the cost, there is a limit of one email per Community Action Agency, which is sent to the Executive Directors when each report becomes available.. |

VirtualCAP is an online resource that contains program models, best practices information, funding opportunities, Organizational Standards information, and a Resource Library that holds hundreds of free tools ranging from sample board of directors documents to successfully operated program models more.
